An Ancient Comfort

Happy: Rooibos Chai is a wonderful way to unwind after a long day of biting one's tongue. That tongue bite is, of course, metaphoric since a literal tongue biting would make enjoying a hot beverage difficult. It's such and international treat as well. It's a South African tea stored in a traditional Japanese tin (at left) served in a Yoda mug (okay, intergalactic treat) and sweetened with Guyanan Demerera sugar. With no caffeine it's a jitter-free treat as well.

Sad: It's time to order more.

#031 - The Call, part 5

Thirty Kilometers outside Autobot Base . . .

Hot Rod: You can take us to the death cult meeting?

Scrapper: Of course I can. I'm the . . . leader of the cult. Yeah! The leader.

Safeguard: Wonderful! We want to join your cult. We love tentacle faced things. Right, guys?

Mirage: What does this have to do with dice again?

Hot Rod: Shhh!!

Meanwhile, at an undisclosed location . . .

Hightower: Let's move, 'cons! We've gotta get this set up before the big guy gets here.

Hightower: Hey, Scapper! What's rattlin'?

Scrapper: I have some "participants" coming. Get the others ready.

Hightower: Do you think your "participants" will be dumb enough to fall for our trap?

Mirage: Um, we've been wandering outside a long while. Is there a little 'bots room around here?

Hightower: I'll tell the others to get ready.

I've Been Workin' on the Web Comic

Happy: Creating this web comic is a great hobby. I dig through a bucket o' Transformers, pose them, photograph them, then think of funny things for them to say. All the while I get to drink Coke Zero and eat some occasional Sour Patch Kids. Awesome.

Sad: Trying to keep ahead of my Wednesday/Sunday schedule can be a little daunting. I've got pictures for the next three comics. I just need to knuckle down and write. Fun, but intimidating.

Request: My comic needs a title. Leave as many suggestions as you like in the comments. The winner gets a prize!

#030 - The Call, part 4

Thirty Kilometers Outside Autobot Base -- Our four heroes are out to rescue Safeguard's counterpart from a mysterious cult.

Grimlock: Me, Grimlock, remember! Me, Grimlock, forget something in quarters. See yous later.

Hot Rod: Some brave warrior you turn out to be. Safeguard needs our help.

Grimlock: No! You, Hot Rod, go on ahead with librarian and burn-out. Me catch up.

Mirage: I thought you didn't like Grimlock, 'Rod. Why're you so steamed to to see him go?

Hot Rod: The ONE time we could use muscle without brains and he turns out to be a coward.

Safeguard: If you're done lamenting your lost love, could we get back to rescuing my counterpart?

Hot Rod: I don't love him! I can't stand him. Besides, aren't we all looking for your "counterpart"?

Safeguard: That doesn't mean we're lovers. C3-PO referred to R2-D2 as his counterpart.

Hot Rod: You're not helping your case.

Safeguard: Shut up! We're never going to find him if we just keep standing here. Now, if you or Smokey here have a clue as to what to do next, I'll be happy to listen. Otherwise, just be quiet.

Mirage: Maybe we should follow him.

Scrapper: You guys lookin' for the death cult meeting?

Easter Fallout '10

Happy: Holy Week is over. Now, it's not like I dislike Easter or the lead up to it. I really enjoy it. When one's wife is a first-year priest, it can be overwhelming. Mthr. M-G participated in twelve services from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday. Three of those were on Easter itself. She preached at all three of those and I must say she was amazing.

Phoeb-a-licious had a great day. She collected over three dozen plastic eggs at church and received two baskets from parishioners. At home, she got her first Transformer toy. Check it out in the video.

(Oh, no. penguin_poet figured out how to post video!) She knows that as a truck, Optimus Prime goes, "vroom!" When he's a robot, he should be fed cookies. Awesome!

Yesterday we dedicated ourselves to doing nothing. It felt great.

Sad: I started back to work today, but we all knew spring break would have to end some day.
